About sales

About 20% of people you talk to tried sales at one time in their life, usually because it was the only job available- out of high school or college. Selling shoes etc. If it was encyclopedias, vacuum cleaners- most failed miserably. These people, providing they like you, have some respect for you as they remember how hard it was. Sales make the business world spin---with the pros
and wobble with the cons. Since anybody can do their job badly, lets stick to the pros.

IN PERSPECTIVE

Pros make very good money say 75k to 600K yearly. Providing you have no benefits whatsoever as an independent contractor (401-health-profit sharing) you better be good at it
because the normal job might have had more stability and benefits weighed out logically.

COMPARE THIS SCENARIO

Doctors, lawyers, and associated professionals must invest oodles of money and precious
time to get their career going say 100,000 for 6-8 years education and for a clinic maybe 200-to
millions for equipment they must pay back, not to mention continuing education and money not earned in the interim.
In addition to this they have to be pretty good at their craft- the failure rate has to be near 0%
would you hire a lawyer with 6 clients on death row out of 100 clients?
would you visit a doctor who loses one too many patients? They must keep failure under 1%
to survive.
On the other hand a salesperson can have minimal or no education, not to say they dont have phd's either but be that as it may they dont need the 8 years and tons of money to get started
and they are applauded with a 80% or more failure rate--20% success and you are in the money! All you need is a pen! fancy that. I was teaching medium level reps one time , and after the above study i asked how many had a pen -about 30% did not. We all laughed because they were on their way already making a good income. Point made. Now then, imagine a rep who took it a step further and studied and read everything they could, took as many self -help and betterment courses they could get there hands on- these are true pros and there are levels too.
Once you start buying land and cars cash within 2 months in the same time it took a normal job type 3 years to do its hard to look back and desire this life again, but if you are not making the big bucks then youre not serious or its not for you trust me on this one. Best part it is a lot of fun.
