How i got into the time share business part 15

Everybody was upset i was leaving, they would have to find someone else.I cant begin to explain
how the kid before me was so bad at this post. I had reduced costs by 40% it took me one day to do what it took him 3, and to give you an idea, one of the fleet cars had red clay dirt all over the back as he had been yanking pot plants from grow areas (very dangerous) i also discovered he or someone had been converting cash for gold coins for organized pot growers using the fleet. So they were wondering how to find a fast mover without maintenance issues (sales slang from many industries describing problems from problem people) misusing funds bla-bla. I might have
someone for the job and i'll let you know and i left. I went to liberty house and got the nicest 3 piece suit and shoes and bought 4 gold pens. One of my roomates doubted my wisdom, recently
he got a letter stating he won a diamond ring and where to pick it up, so i brought one back and showed him. You will be wrung thru the washer for a high-pressure time share and heres your gift--you would need an electron microscope to see the chip- which legally was a diamond. Arc welding produces them too, those sparkly things that bounce around to the floor, those are minuscule diamonds. So he didnt think anything was on the level here, thats a marketing co.
time share is good/ sales and marketing=bad.

I took the state dept. foreign service test at the university of hawaii. The most fiendish civil service test in the books. You can study to be a Dr. , lawyer,Engineer but you cant study for this one...they will even tell you so. I get a letter- you failed!! but take it again and report to washington d.c. for oral test. Mr.e reviews it and said very few pass it, chuckling out the side of his mouth. If you really want in, i will make one call and you are in if you want. Thank you mr.e
but my relatives have "shoehorns" also, i really appreciate it though and wish to do it by my merits alone. He mentioned that the highest post was ambassador grade which i wouldnt ever get anyway and only pays 70-90k back then. Besides you can make that with me and enjoy yourself more. Stop messing around, you have been selling people around here their own underwear and frankly i know the stunts youve pulled you are very smart and clever and you are wasting you're time....im putting you with 100 couples on the sales floor! visualizing some of the creeps there i said i dont like time share sales and he laughs in my face (he rarely laughed)
the laugh would be the one you would have after someone turning down one of the best offers
ever. And he was wealthy...when a millionaire laughs at you, pay attention. Tell the office to replace you and i will call the manager that you will be on the line tomorrow in the penthouse.
OH NO...NO....NO... im thinking these people are going to tear me apart like a hot dog thrown
to a pack of chihuahuas, after all the disrespect i gave them and flaunted my immunity like a little girl with a lollypop laughing at their inability to get even...they even knew of the time i
took a secretary to drink beer in a limo watching planes land and take off on a hill overlooking
the airport, the pager was going off continously- i had their checks and they went home without them...the best way to deal with your fears is to confront them----yeah, try it!!

How i got into the time share business part 12

Every industry has its learning bell curve and this new time share thing was turning heads.

Mr E was not new to this as he had been creating all types of clubs going back many years, with his wife ginny simms. They had put deals together from the 50's on , clubs in minnesota, washington, california, restaurants with famous musicians etc. These people didnt walk in the

door duuhhh...lets start a time share..they were movers and shakers, he was instrumental in getting Eisenhower elected and politically connected, as i mentioned he was past attorney general and 2 term senator, she had dated louis b. mayer after his wife passed away. Ginny
won the national designer award in 1961 for her decorating wonders for the hyatt hotels and gave the name to the hotels as hyatt was at a loss what to call it. Time and Life magazines
called Mr. E "The young lawyer with the book "for his rousing G.O.P. nomination of Eisenhower.
Needless to say but if you search the net for ginny simms you will see her wonderful and outstanding radio and movie career. Many celebrities ventured into resorts and the like,
as did Ralph Evinrude (of marine engine fame) with frances langford in florida.

The bad economics of the times and the fact that the "honeymoon" was over plus all the new
regulations and real estate requirements slowed things down a bit, and in addition to this many
companies were now jumping in. Time share was here to stay, and mr. e already had off-site offices all over so he survived.

Big christmas new years party with carved ice swans, caviar, the best hotel in waikiki.
Mr. E starts giving out bonus checks $20,000-$10,000 and so on. I felt like a starving dog
under a buffet table. Then my name is called---definitely im going to get one of those candy boxes all the minions will receive. A check! $ 2000 holy holy this is 1978, its like 10,000 in
2010 ! I am flabbergasted and notice the look of scrutiny from the managers. They approved!
wether in on it or not the faces said you little p***k you made it!

How i got into the time share business part 10

One of the dumbest errands ever. This big shot was flying somewhere and he became friends

with his seat mate who claimed was very ill and needed help to move a shipment from a dock to his house. Obviously no one is to know that this mercy mission will be on the company clock.

So i rent a truck, enlist a friend and look for the dock. Its 1/2 ton of moss............gimme a break.

It barely fits in the truck and im thinking-moss- used in dioramas, flower shops, and the locals

pass it off as puna butter pakalolo (pot) to unsuspecting tourists who if they make a scene

the police would book them under bunko squad. Anyway im thinking im going to deliver this

to the moks (local no-goods) and im not happy. I lose about 10 bags on red hill, a steep 5 mile

hill (i once had a 454 cu. buick and used 1/2 the tank going up) We have to start going up the foothills of the koolau range and the trip is going to the boonies. Finally we get there and after quite a while this old and frail japanese man tells me to put it behind a large shed. On an overlook is an amazing view of the whole leeward side of oahu and surrounded by acres

of lilies dafodills and mostly orchids. I estimated the orchid crop at $50,000. the beauty

of it all dissolved our anger. I mentioned i normally dont do favors for a friend of a friend i dont know, trying to get some compensation at least for my buddy who volunteered.

Maybe because of the wind he didnt hear me--then i saw it, about 40-50 pickled duck egg containers. These are fired clay containers, about 25 gal. capacity decorated with dragons

doing their thing going around. They are used to ship duck eggs that ferment for 3-5 up to 20 years in mud in the containers and are quite a delicacy for orientals. The only store that i knew
of that sold them on hotel street wouldnt sell them. They were very desirable items, many were stolen from front yards of houses. Like a pickle jar. Using a lie that had worked before, regarding buying antiques, i said- hey, can i have some of those, my mom had one and i broke
it horsing around as a kid she never forgave me...he said you can have as many as you can put in truck...my buddy had seen me in action before and kept a straight face he even made faces due to the extra work. We were able to get 14 onboard. 2 broke, i mended them later. All told i made
over $500, some i used as tipping points--take the lamp-i'll throw in the vase.

How i got into the time share business part 9

Time share was different in those days. It was for pros only..seriously. About 20% were Vietnam vets who had credentials. About 20% were ex Hollywood types about 20% were foreigners, Hungary,Hong Kong, England. 20% were land sales and other professional types.
They all had character and lots of money from somewhere else. Although there are others a few
were legend. E.C. an older woman, they called her the dragon lady, long black wig, porno fingernails and drove a rolls royce, had an accent, and i didnt know much about her (she didnt buy jewelry from me) seems if clients got into her car for a stroll they were dead meat.
Brownie-- sherlock holmes look alike, his outfit was real and costs lots of money, even had the pipe, people were mesmerized by him. He was 75 and had a korean wife who was always lurking about making sure he didnt eat the wrong kim-chee, she wore traditional silk outfits. He left tons
of land and money to his alma matter. An Austrian gentleman, who left me with good advice.
He had about 20 pieces of property and homes worlwide- i often helped him expedite paperwork
regarding rentals, leases and so forth and introduced him to courier pilots-vat a gut iiidea it got dere in vun dai!!! He told me if i started travelling to buy land, dont think or worry just buy and move on, thats how he had so much property. And not in podunk either the titles were in far and exotic places. Some of these people did this to entertain themselves, they didnt really need the money, ive met reps down the road who said this and they are full of it. Not one of these people
ever said that. A hungarian no one liked was actually from the deposed kingdom and had unlimited funds from the family fortune. Quite a few of these evicted political refugees would take refuge in the most plush hotels in new york city and make it their residence for life, in fact
these hotels had clauses not to disclose the tenants or evict them if the hotel was sold. the plaza
was one of them. He was one of them. Most arrived from ww2 the rest from the cold war.

How i got into the time share business part 8

As i stated before i held the whole time share thing in contempt, primarily because of the very brash salespeople. I was also jealous of their lifestyle i must admit. Sales and marketing worked very closely together whereas some companies it was a dysfunctional family. Soon i was tasked
to co-ordinate cash delivery to opc's. No small feat, i'll explain. The success of hospitality sales is to have a room full of customers not less, as it seems your biz is slow and of no interest. The penthouse had 3 shows a day by invitation only. In order to do this the opc's had an allotment
of 20 tables to fill 3 times a day anything less is courting disaster this movement all told cost
about $20,000 daily. Many locations around waikiki would be responsible for delivering the couples. If it seemed on the pre-arrival list the night before the room would be lacking they would call me to deliver heavy incentives from 6 to 9 at night. So one night im trying to buy satsuma vases from this japanese lady dealer and my pager goes off. Im driving her and on the way stop at a booth and give the lady $500, thanks for the 2 couples and drove off. She told me she attented a time share from this very booth and couldnt believe how much they made ,i told her they were paid from $150 to $300 each couple this was just a bonus. She had the night shift starting wed.! Soon we had supervisors on motorcycles doing this and it was very effective.
